SMB(Server Message Block)
A network file-sharing protocol used by Windows, macOS and Linux to access shared folders.
SMB (also called CIFS or Samba on Linux) is the most widely compatible way to share files on a home network. Every major OS can mount SMB shares natively, making it the default choice for a general-purpose NAS.
