Homelab
Un entorno de laboratorio personal en casa para aprender, experimentar y ejecutar infraestructura de TI.
A homelab can range from a single Raspberry Pi to racks of enterprise gear. Enthusiasts use them to practice skills, host services, and tinker with virtualization, networking and automation. The community is welcoming and shares builds on forums and subreddits.
Many people build a homelab to learn real IT skills in a safe, hands-on environment — virtualization, Linux, networking, containers and infrastructure-as-code — which often translates directly into career value. Others simply enjoy the hobby and the independence of running their own services. A common piece of advice is to resist over-buying: start with efficient, quiet, low-power hardware that fits your actual needs, since an always-on lab's electricity and noise matter more day-to-day than raw specifications. Grow it deliberately as you find genuine uses rather than collecting hardware for its own sake.
